Aston Martin creates Red Arrows-inspired Vanquish S

Aston Martin has unveiled a limited-edition Vanquish S inspired by the RAF’s legendary Red Arrows aerobatics division.

Built by Q, the luxury car maker’s bespoke division, the GT car is limited to just 10 examples and features a custom Red Arrows-inspired makeover.

The exterior of the car is finished in Eclat Red, named after the squadron’s motto ‘Eclat’, which means ‘brilliance’ or ‘excellence’ in French.

Inside, the car features Red Arrows and RAF tributes, including the unit’s nine-aircraft logo embroidered into the seatbacks.

Mechanically, the car remains unchanged from the standard Vanquish S. It is still powered by a 6.0-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine producing 592bhp, allowing it to reach 60mph in just 3.3 seconds.

Nine of the special-edition models will be sold to consumers, reflecting the nine-aircraft displays. However, the final car will be gifted to the RAF Benevolent Fund. This car will be given away to the winner of a raffle, the proceeds of which will be donated to the charity.

The Red Arrows were formed in 1964 as the RAF’s official aerobatic team and have been made up of nine pilots since 1966. The team have performed more than 4,800 times across the globe.
