Aston Martin debuts new powerboat at US yacht show

Aston Martin has pulled the covers off its prototype powerboat at Yachts Miami Beach

With room for eight passengers, the AM37 boasts the same high quality craftsmanship Aston Martin’s road cars are famous for.

The 37ft boat is available in two variations – the first of which is the AM37, which is powered by two 364bhp Mercury diesel engines. The AM37S, meanwhile, features a pair of 424bhp Mercury petrol engines and can reach a top speed of 50 knots.

The windscreen is crafted from a single piece of sculpted glass, while passengers can extend a swim platform from the aft deck.

An on-board table can be converted into a double bed, allowing passengers to spend the night on the boat. The AM37 also features a microwave, espresso machine as well as a toilet for self-containment.

The boats are being constructed at Quintessence Yachts’ UK premises. CEO Mariella Mengozzi said: “As the exclusive builders of the Aston Martin powerboats, Quintessence Yachts translate design into functionality and technology to enhance the customer experience.

“Yachts Miami Beach is a strategic event for us to reach our clients and we are proud to showcase the AM37, a boat that represents an entirely new concept for the yachting world. We are very gratified by the strong interest in our yacht before the boat show and this is the right time to present it to an expectant American audience.”

The luxury yacht show continues until February 21.
