Aston Martin unveils Vanquish S Volante

Aston Martin has pulled the covers off the convertible Volante version of the new Vanquish S GT car.

The British luxury brand announced the Vanquish S Volante was in the works in November last year, although did not release any images.

Many of the coupe’s styling tweaks remain, and the Volante is treated to a redesigned aerodynamic package that shows off an exposed carbon-fibre splitter and diffuser. It also gains model-specific quad exhausts.

A tweet from Aston Martin described the Volante as “stunning from every angle”.

It is powered by the same 6.0-litre V12 as the hard-top, with a faster throttle response owing to a freer-breathing intake system. It produces 592bhp.

The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, which has been remapped to offer quicker gear changes as well as more refinement at low speeds.

Suspension has been tuned for a more aggressive driving experience in sportier driving settings, and more supple in comfort-focused settings.

Aston Martin is yet to reveal prices for the Vanquish S Volante, although it will likely be more expensive than the £199,950 coupe.
