Audi Black Edition returns to the A4 range

Audi has added high-specification Black Edition models to its updated A4 range.

Applicable to both saloon and Avant (estate) variants as additional specification for trims for trim levels SE and above, Black Edition cars accounted for “more than 50 per cent” of orders for the old A4 before it was dropped for the new generation.

The changes are predominately aesthetic, with a choice of either 19- or 18-inch alloy wheels available. There’s also a titanium black styling pack that extends to the side skirts and air intakes, among others.

Inside, Black Edition models benefit from a flat-bottomed steering wheel and piano black inlays. All of the Black Edition’s extras represent a saving of £550 compared with adding the items individually.

Customers can specify the Black Edition trim level with all engine options, ranging from an entry-level 1.4-litre petrol to the most powerful V6 TDI Quattro.

On top of the new Black Edition trim, updated specification across the Audi range includes the company’s new Safety and Service technology, which gives emergency roadside assistance when it is required – and this is soon to be standard on all models.

Elsewhere, Sport models get a new multifunction steering wheel, a seven-inch information system and front seat heating.

Audi A4 Black Edition models are available to order now, and are priced from £32,350 to £44,350.
