Audi pulls wraps off 2017 RS3 Sportback

Full details of the new Audi RS3 Sportback have been revealed, ahead of its public debut at next month’s Geneva International Motor Show.

It features a 2.5-litre turbocharged engine that develops 394bhp and 480Nm of torque, enabling a 0-60mph time of less than four seconds. Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system helps maintain traction in all conditions and lowered suspension should mean the RS3 is even more composed through the corners.

Changes to the exterior include a gloss honeyblack grille, standard-fit LED headlights and a large rear diffuser that sits between two massive oval exhausts. LED matrix headlights are also available as an option.

The hyper hatch has had its front track widened by 20mm, and gains large 19-inch alloys.

Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Audi Sport GmbH, said: “The Audi RS3 Sportback offers our customers an attractive introduction to the RS world.

“Since 2011, the sporty compact model has proved itself extremely successful on the market. And with the new five-cylinder engine, the Audi RS3 Sportback is at the head of its class and continuing that strong track record.”
