Bentley reveal all-new Bentayga Diesel

Bentley has showcased its first diesel car ever, in the form of the Bentayga Diesel.

Featuring a 4.0-litre V8 diesel under the bonnet, the Bentayga produces 429bhp and 900Nm torque. Despite the car’s sheer size, it is able to reach 62mph in just 4.8 seconds and can carry on to a top speed of 168mph.

Coming with an impressive range of 612 miles, the Bentayga Diesel also does well in terms of economy. Emitting 210g/km CO2, it is the lowest C02-emitting Bentley in the range.

Wolfgang Durheimer, chairman and chief executive of Bentley Motors, said: “The Bentayga Diesel represents a moment of immense significance in Bentley’s history, by giving the world its fastest luxury diesel SUV.

“Immense power, grand touring capabilities and superb refinement – this is a true Bentley. Only Bentley could produce a car so powerful, yet so refined.”

Inside, the Bentayga is still unquestionably a Bentley. Veneers, each produced by one of Bentley’s craftsmen, are hand-selected before being used in the car.

Buyers also have a range of options to make their car more personal to them. A standout of these is the Mulliner hamper set, which includes a refrigerator, china cutlery and crystal glasses. Sections of the hamper can also be removed and used as seats, too.

Another option worth mentioning is the £150,000 Mulliner Tourbillon by Breitling clock. Created from solid gold, it is wound by a mechanism fitted to the interior of the car.

Deliveries for the Bentayga Diesel are due to commence in the early part of next year.
