Former Top Gear ‘reasonably priced car’ has gone on sale

BBC motoring show Top Gear’s former ‘reasonably priced car’ is up for sale.

The former ‘reasonably priced car’ from Top Gear is for sale.

The 2012 Kia Cee’d featured on the BBC motoring show’s ‘Star in a Reasonably Priced Car’ segment, in which celebrities would get behind the wheel of the South Korean hatchback and compete to set the fastest lap time around the Top Gear test track.

Advertised on online marketplace Auto Trader at a very reasonable £4,500, the car has covered a total of 7,200 miles — just over 3,000 of which were during Top Gear’s ownership.

The Cee’d returned to Kia for use as a promotional vehicle before being sold at one of the manufacturer’s UK dealerships.

The current owner claims the car has been very well maintained and holds a full Kia service history, despite being driven in relative anger around a track by a host of celebrities

Andy Pringle, editor of Auto Trader Cars, said: “Everyone tells you to look for a car with one careful owner, but you could be forgiven for worrying when that one owner is Top Gear, and we have clear TV evidence of the extreme driving behaviour this particular car has endured.

“That said, this is probably the best maintained Kia Cee’d on the planet – and having been entrusted with the lives of some of the world’s biggest stars, its full Kia service history and low mileage could offer something different for a buyer who’s on the lookout for arguably the most famous Kia Cee’d in the world.”
