Jaguar confirms new compact E-Pace SUV

Jaguar has lifted the lid on its all-new compact E-Pace SUV.

Set to take on the likes of the BMW X1 and Audi Q3, it’s due to be fully revealed on July 13.

Ian Callum, director of design for Jaguar, said: “The combination of sports car looks with Jaguar performance will ensure that the E-Pace stands out. Every Jaguar is designed to excite the senses, and we think E-Pace will do just that, albeit with its own individual character.”

The E-Pace joins the successful F-Pace, which has helped Jaguar towards an 83 per cent boost in sales to 172,848 in the last financial year, and it’s likely that this latest car will be just as popular. The pair are also set to be joined by an all-electric model – called the I-Pace, which is due to enter production in 2018.

Prices for the E-Pace will start at £28,500 in the UK, and it’s likely that it will be available with a similarly high level of customisation options as seen on the current F-Pace.

It will feature all-wheel drive technology, and will be powered by a range of all-Ingenium petrol and diesel engines. The car sits on the tried-and-tested platform used by the current Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque.
