Jaguar teases its all-new XF Sportbrake ahead of Wimbledon

Jaguar has released a teaser image of their all-new XF Sportbrake, but not through a normal press picture.

The luxury automaker, which is an official sponsor of Wimbledon, went all out and had an image painted on to the lawns at Wimbledon ahead of the championship in just 70 days time, being held between Monday July 3 and Sunday July 16.

The video above shows director of design for Jaguar, Ian Callum explaining why the lines of the car are so important, comparing them alongside head groundsman at Wimbledon Neil Stubley, to the white lines drawn on the courts.

Ian Callum explained the idea behind his design, he said: “With XF Sportbrake we’ve created a silhouette which sweeps towards the rear, almost into the distance, and really gives the car a sense of speed and sportiness. It will bring new levels of practicality to the range without sacrificing the dynamic design and agile handling our customers expect.”

Neil Stubley also commented, saying: “Ian and I come from very different professions but the roles of head groundsman and design director at Jaguar have one thing in common – our dedication to achieving perfect precise lines.”

The XF Sportbrake will go on sale later this summer and will sit alongside the already popular XF saloon and F-Pace SUV.
