Mercedes-AMG reveals new E63 and E63S Estate

Mercedes-AMG has revealed its powerful new E63 and E63 Estate cars

Powering both cars is a 4.0-litre biturbo V8 engine, producing 571bhp and 750Nm of torque in the standard car, rising to 612bhp and 850Nm of torque in the S version. In both cars, power is sent to the road through all four wheels via a nine-speed sports transmission.

Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG, said: ““The new AMG E63 Estate combines our brand’s hallmark driving dynamics with high everyday practicality. It is not for nothing that the model has been a permanent fixture in the AMG portfolio for 40 years.

“The powerful engine and the intelligent all-wheel drive underpin our claim to always be at the forefront of development when it comes to performance.”

The exterior of the E63 Estate features many dynamic touches to help differentiate it from standard models, including twin exhaust tailpipes at the rear which has been specifically tuned for the estate model.

There are also signature AMG flared wheel arches, and large front and rear splitters.

However, despite its impressive levels of performance, the E63 and E63S Estates are still able to offer plenty of practicality. The boot has 640 litres of storage space, which rises to 1,820 litres with the rear seats folded down.

The pair are set to be officially unveiled at next month’s Geneva Motor Show, with order books due to open in April.
