Mercedes-Benz reveals pricing and specifications for AMG GT R and AMG GT Roadsters

Mercedes-Benz has announced the pricing and specification for the ballistic new Mercedes-AMG GT R and GT Roadster.

The GT R will cost from £143,245 and is powered by a 577bhp, 4.0-litre biturbo V8. This means the GT R can sprint from 0-60mph in 3.4 seconds, and can hit a top speed of 198mph.

Standard kit includes AMG sports bucket seats, a carbon-fibre roof, the bold new Panamericana grille and an AMG performance exhaust system to name but a few features.

Optional extras include the AMG Track package, which adds four-point seat harnesses, a fire extinguisher and roll cage for an additional £1,685. There is also the option to specify carbon ceramic brakes for £5,995.

The vibrant AMG Green Hell Magno paint costs a whopping £7,500, while an AMG Carbon Fibre package will cost £3,895. This throws in exterior styling details with a carbon-fibre finish.

The GT Roadster will cost from £110,145, while the more powerful GT C roadster starts at £139,445.

Both are powered by the same 4.0-litre biturbo V8, which produces 470bhp in the GT Roadster and 549bhp in the GT C Roadster. The former completes the 0-60mph dash in 3.8 seconds, while the latter manages it in 3.5 seconds.

The GT Roadster comes with 19-inch alloy wheels, as well as the Panamericana grille and AMG performance exhaust as standard. Customers can also specify heated AMG sports seats, as well as black Nappa leather upholstery.

The GT C Roadster features such standard kit as 19-inch alloys on the front, and 20-inch alloys on the back, as well as a Burmester surround sound system.

All of the new models are now on sale in the UK.
