Nissan announces pricing for fifth-generation Micra

Nissan has revealed that its new Micra supermini will cost from £11,995 when it goes on sale in the UK next year.

The Micra, which is now in its fifth generation, will be offered in five different trim levels: the base-specification Visia, Visia+, Acenta, N-Connecta and the flagship Tekna model, which starts at £17,295.

The Japanese manufacturer has predicted that the IG-T 90 Acenta model will be one of the best-sellers of the Micra range. Prices for this model begin at £14,995.

Full pricing and specifications for the entire Micra range will be released in mid-December, in time for the opening of UK pre-order books.

The new Micra will be available with a 0.9-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel unit from launch – both of which produce 89bhp.

Nissan will also introduce a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that develops 72bhp at a later date.

The Micra will be offered with a pleasing range of options. These include keyless entry, an engine start/stop button and heated front seats.

Also debuting on the new Micra is a Bose sound system that incorporates Bose UltraNearfield speakers and Bose Virtual Audio Technology. This optional system features speakers that are built into the driver seat headrest. Nissan says this provides “an immersive listening experience”.

The fifth-generation Micra will be available in 10 different body colours, including solid, metallic and pearlescent options.

Customers will also be able to specify other personalisation options such as a contrast-colour cabin and body features, leather trim, 17-inch alloy wheels with colour detailing and body decals.
