Nissan release pricing and specification for new GT-R Nismo

Nissan has unveiled its latest and greatest version of the GT-R supercar – the GT-R Nismo.

Due to go on sale from Novermber 1, the GT-R Nismo will retail at £149,995 in the UK. Powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6, it produces 592bhp, compared to 562bhp in the standard car. This comes in part from the use of a pair of high-flow turbochargers, similar to those used in GT3 racing.

The car’s front end has been redesigned to help with aerodynamics. It has also been crafted from carbon fibre, ensuring that the vehicle’s overall weight is kept low. The front grille has also been enlarged to help send more air towards the car’s engine. This new design also channels air around the GT-R Nismo’s wheels, increasing downforce.

As a result of the styling changes, the GT-R Nismo has better overall downforce than the standard car, and as a result is more stable at higher speeds.

Engineers have also worked hard to refine the car’s suspension. The shock absorbers and springs have been carefully adjusted, meaning that the car has better balance than the standard vehicle. This has been showcased in numerous slalom and cornering tests.

Inside, the car’s dashboard has been redesigned and trimmed in Alcantara, while the leather-lined bucket seats are unique to GT-R Nismo.
