Order books open for Isuzu D-Max truck

Order books have opened for the new Isuzu D-Max pickup truck, in readiness for its arrival in the UK this spring.

According to Isuzu, the new D-Max has been comprehensively overhauled, with the greatest amount of changes occurring under the bonnet.

The D-Max now features a 1.9-litre turbocharged diesel engine, which produces 162bhp and a significant 360Nm of torque.

This new powerplant allows the D-Max to retain its 3.5-tonne towing capacity, as well as a one-tonne payload. The new engine will, however, be more refined – therefore offering a more relaxing driving experience to owners.

Isuzu also says that the new engine is better in terms of economy when compared to the unit it replaces, and meets Euro 6 standards without the need for AdBlue.

The new D-Max does retain its Shift-On-The-Fly four-wheel-drive system, which gives drivers
to option to select the off-road driving mode while on the move. The pickup’s low-range gearbox can also be selected in this way.

Running costs will remain minimal thanks to 12,000-mile or 24-month service intervals, as well as a five-year, 125,000-mile warranty. The truck is also covered by five-year recovery, which includes European cover.
