Seat reveals sporty Ateca FR

Seat has lifted the lid on its latest version of its Ateca SUV – the FR.

It will be the sportiest model of the family SUV so far and will look different to other Atecas thanks to sportier styling and a black radiator grille.

The sporty SUV will also feature chunkier 18-inch alloy wheels, body-coloured wheel arch surrounds, tinted windows, aluminium roof rails and a rear spoiler.

There will be two petrols available in the form of a 1.4-litre Eco TSI 150 and a 2.0-litre TSI 190.

Two turbocharged diesels will complete the lineup – a 2.0-litre TDI 150 and a 2.0-litre 190 TDI.

Both of these are fairly economical, with the lesser-powered 148bhp version managing an average of 55.4mpg and emitting 129g/km of CO2, while the 175bhp version manages 53.3mpg and emits 135g/km of CO2.

All 2.0-litre models will come with 4Drive - Seat’s own all-wheel-drive system.

There is a choice of either a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed automatic.

Inside, the cabin will have Alcantara sports seats and progressive steering.

There will be plenty of technology on board, such as media system plus’ which encompasses an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system and features USB connectivity, Bluetooth, DAB radio and Seat’s smartphone integration system which allows you to access both Apple Car Play and Android Auto.

All-round LED lighting including interior lights will also be standard.

Park assist, satellite navigation, wireless phone charging and 19-inch wheels are some of the available optional extras.

The Ateca FR costs from £24,960 and is available to order from July 3 this year.
