Skoda pulls covers off latest Citigo ahead of Geneva debut

Skoda will publicly unveil a new version of its popular Citigo city car at next month’s Geneva International Motor Show.

The revised Citigo gains a new front end, as well as a refreshed cabin. It has also slightly grown in size when compared with its predecessor, meaning more room in the back.

A new creased bonnet has been fitted, helping bring the new city car more in line with the Czech manufacturer’s other models. The bumper and radiator grille have been redesigned as well.

LED daytime running lights are offered on the new Citigo, as are cornering fog lights. Skoda has also introduced a wider range of alloy wheels, as well as a Kiwi Green exterior colour.

The cabin gains a revised instrument display, as well as an updated infotainment screen. The removable Garmin unit from the old model has been replaced by a built-in LCD display, which brings with it a larger number of phone connectivity options – including the ability for the driver’s smartphone to provide navigation.

The Citigo is still powered by the same range of 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engines. The standard 59bhp unit will take the Citigo from zero to 60mph in around 14 seconds, and provides an economy figure of 68.9mpg. The more powerful 74bhp unit manages the same fuel economy figure but reduces the 0-60mph time by a second.
