Skoda has given us a closer look at its new Karoq SUV in new images released today.

Replacing the Yeti, the Karoq will share many features with the popular Kodiaq SUV.

We know that the Karoq has LED technology for the headlights and taillights, as well as a chrome-trimmed radiator grille that brightens up the front end of the car.

Inside, there’s enough room for five people to sit comfortably, while the boot is equally spacious. Offering 521 litres of seats-up boot space and 1,630 litres with them folded down, it trumps the Nissan Qashqai’s seat-up capacity of 430 litres and 1,585 litres of seats-down space.

Available with two petrol and three diesel engines ranging from a 1.0-litre petrol to a 2.0-litre diesel, the Karoq has a powertrain to meet all needs. The most powerful diesel benefits from four-wheel drive fitted as standard, as well as a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

However, all engines will be available with either a six-speed manual or the previously mentioned automatic.

The Karoq’s interior benefits from Skoda’s latest infotainment system, with top-spec cars packing WLAN hotspots, giving passengers easy internet access throughout the car.

The Karoq will launch in May although prices yet to be announced.
