Volvo announces UK pricing for XC60

Volvo has announced full UK pricing and specifications for its new XC60.

The premium SUV model is available to order now, with prices starting from £37,205. UK deliveries are expected to begin in late summer.

There are three engine choices available in the form of two diesels and one petrol, with a petrol-electric plug-in hybrid version will go on sale later this year.

All models get an eight-speed automatic gearbox and four-wheel drive as standard, with the base D4 cars getting a claimed 55.4mpg. The more powerful D5 versions should prove ot be economical, with Volvo claiming 51.4mpg.

The T5 is the most powerful engine option with 250bhp – it should return 39.2mpg and emit 164g/km of CO2. The D4 and D5 models emit 133g/km and 144g/km CO2 respectively.

Jon Wakefield, managing director of Volvo Car UK, said: “We’re incredibly excited about the brand-new XC60. Not only does it bring all the style and advanced technology from our larger cars to our best-selling SUV, it is the latest step in Volvo’s transformation.”

Three trim levels will be available, called Momentum, R-Design and Inscription.

LED headlights are standard across the range, as is two-zone climate control and 18-inch alloy wheels. The sporty R-Design trim comes with 19-inch alloy wheels and sport suspension, as well as a black front grille.

Pilot Assist – Volvo’s semi-autonomous drive technology – is an optional extra on the XC60. This aids the driver with steering, acceleration and braking, as well as keeps the vehicle in its lane and a safe distance from the car in front.

Volvo’s City Safety System is also fitted to all XC60s, and comes with technology such as automatic emergency braking and steer assist, the latter of which is new. It can help to steer the car away from a collision to minimise any damage that might occur.
