Volvo reintroduces LifePaint reflective spray

Volvo has reintroduced its innovative LifePaint reflective spray.

The spray, which was initially sold through dealers last year, is capable of reflecting light, allowing drivers to see cyclists more clearly at night. It can be used on fibrous materials, such as cotton, fleece and linen – though it can also be used on dog leads, helmets and even shoes.

Joe Wakefield, managing director of Volvo Cars UK, said: “LifePaint is another example of Volvo’s human-centric approach to safety. Not only are we a world leader in safety technology for our cars, by offering this innovative spray online, we’re helping to protect more people on our roads than ever – whether they drive a Volvo or not.”

More than 19,000 cyclists are injured on UK roads each year, and because of this statistic the Swedish firm wanted to create a product that would help those on two wheels stay visible at night.

Volvo has partnered up with the makers of LifePaint, Swedish start-up company Albedo100, to sell its product via its dealer network.

Each can of LifePaint is priced at £13, with post and packaging set at a flat rate of £7 per order. A maximum of ten cans can be ordered by each customer and, for the first time, LifePaint is available to order online.
