The Chrysler Grand Voyager is the stretched version of the Voyager people carrier. It was launched alongside the Voyager in 2001, and a second generation went on sale in 2008, at which point the standard Voyager was no longer offered. It was discontinued in 2015 when the Chrysler brand was withdrawn from the UK.
It was far more popular than the Voyager, so there is a wider range of used examples to choose from. It’s a very spacious seven-seater with a large boot, even when every seat is in use. Both petrol and diesel engines were offered; the 2.8-litre diesel was the critics’ choice.
The first-generation model has much in common with the smaller Voyager, and features very clever ‘Stow ’n Go’ folding seats from December 2004. These fold into the floor when not in use to create a huge amount of luggage space.
The second-generation Grand Voyager brought styling to match the 300C muscle car, and the lion’s share of used examples feature a 2.8-litre diesel engine that returns around 30mpg - pretty impressive for a car of this size. Every version of this later model comes with alloy wheels, triple-zone climate control and electrically-sliding rear windows.
