The Nissan Juke has been in production since 2011, since when it’s been said that its distinctive looks divide opinion. However, over the years the Juke has become a regular sight on UK roads, proving that more people have fallen for its quirky charms than not. In fact, just as many women have been attracted by its funky looks as men.
A number of features are included as standard, many of which adorn the Juke’s exterior. These include body-coloured and power-operated door mirrors and lightweight 16-inch alloy wheels. This five-door crossover is very easy to access and, once inside, it soon becomes apparent that passenger space is generous, even in the back row. The cabin is comfortable as well as roomy, and provides the driver with an elevated position, ensuring that forward visibility is exceptionally good.
A minimum luggage capacity of 251-litres is available with original models. From 2014 onwards, the vehicle was fitted with a 354-litre boot space, which can be expanded to 1,189 litres with 60/40 split folding rear seats folded.
Air conditioning and four electric windows are included as standard, as is a four-speaker sound system (with CD player and AM/FM radio). The vehicle comes with Euro NCAP’s five-star crash-test rating and a whole host of safety features, such as anti-lock brakes, electronic traction control, ISOFIX preparation and multiple airbags.
Many models are fitted with a 1.6-litre petrol engine, with power outputs of either 92bhp or 115bhp, while some variants are installed with a 1.5-litre 108bhp diesel unit. Models fitted with a 1.6-litre DiG-T, meanwhile, produce 187bhp and 0-60mph in 7.8 seconds. The 1.5-litre diesel option is the most fuel-efficient choice, returning as much as 70mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 104g/km.
