The E-NV200 is the electric variant of Nissan’s medium-size commercial van – the NV200 –which has been in production since 2009. The E-NV200 was released in the UK in 2014 and is currently this country’s largest all-electric van.
As with the regular vehicle, the E-NV200 is available in Panel Van and Combi variants, the latter making for an extremely practical and spacious MPV. Combi versions were initially fitted with five seats but, from 2015, onwards, seven-seat models were made available too, with the additional two seats being foldable as well as completely removable. Panel Van iterations feature wide-opening asymmetric rear doors, as well as a sliding side door on each flank, offering plenty of loading flexibility.
The vehicle’s cab provides 13 cubby spaces – for mugs, smartphones and sundry other items – including an under-floor compartment. Thanks to the E-NV200’s quiet electric motor and supportive seats, a serene and comfortable cabin environment is afforded passengers. An AM/FM radio and CD player come as standard, as does Bluetooth connectivity. Some models are also specified with air conditioning and/or satellite navigation. Power-assisted steering, cruise control and front and side airbags are standard safety features.
The E-NV200 offers 4,200 litres of load space and a payload capacity of 770kg, the same as its diesel-powered sibling. Even with all seats in place, seven-seat Combi models deliver as much as 870 litres of cargo capacity.
The van’s electric motor puts out 108bhp and 254Nm of torque, enabling the vehicle to reach a top speed of 76mph. The E-NV200 can be charged at one of 5,500 charging points located throughout the UK (230 of which provide rapid charging). It can also be charged at home or at work using a standard power source. Upon a full charge, the van has a driving range of 106 miles.
