The GT-R first rolled off Nissan’s manufacturing line in 2007 and remains in production to this day. This impressive two-door coupé was introduced to UK shores in 2009, immediately receiving very strong reviews from our automotive press, with Top Gear declaring it to be “Nissan’s finest hour.”
Ferociously fast and gorgeous to look at, the GT-R is something of a speeding vehicular bullet when in full flow. When stationary, one can truly appreciate its subtle yet imposing sports-car looks, which are enhanced by 20-inch alloy wheels and streamlined headlights. Even the vehicle’s power-operated side-view mirrors are encased in stylish body-coloured shells.
Inside this four-seater coupé, there is plenty of space for front-row travellers, while rear seats can comfortably convey two younger passengers. Each leather-upholstered seat offers lots of support – and the driver further benefits from a power-adjustable position and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The latter features audio controls which can be used to operate the GT-R’s Bose sound system. This includes a radio and CD player and 30GB hard drive, and Bluetooth connectivity is featured too. Safety features include power steering, Electronic Stability Control, passenger and front side airbags, while some models are also specified with rear parking sensors.
Upon release, the vehicle was installed with a 3.85-litre V6 engine. Paired with six-speed dual-clutch transmission, this produces 478bhp and a peak torque of 588Nm. This iteration can go from 0-60mph in 3.7 breathtaking seconds and is capable of a top speed of 193mph.
